Censor Board Directs Aamir Khan to Add PM Modi’s Quote in Sitaare Zameen Par Disclaimer – Check All Changes Made
Aamir Khan’s much-anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par finally hit theatres on June 20, but only after incorporating key modifications suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Among the most notable changes was the inclusion of a quote by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the film’s disclaimer. The CBFC granted the film a U/A certificate, allowing it to be viewed by audiences of all ages with parental guidance for children below 12.

Aamir Khan’s latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par, was released on June 20 after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) suggested five important changes. One of the notable modifications was the inclusion of a quote from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the film’s opening disclaimer.
The movie was cleared with a U/A certificate, which allows it to be viewed by all age groups. However, parental guidance is advised for children below 13.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, which accessed a copy of the censor certification, the CBFC had issued the following recommendations ahead of the film’s release.

As part of the five recommended changes, the CBFC directed several content edits in Sitaare Zameen Par. The original 30-second disclaimer was replaced with a 26-second voice-over, and the word “kamal” (lotus) was removed from both visuals and subtitles.

In addition, the term “business woman” was replaced with “business person”, promoting gender-neutral language. The subtitle mention of “Michael Jackson” was also replaced with “Lovebirds”.
Most notably, the film’s opening disclaimer was updated to include Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision statement for the year 2047, aligning with the board’s directive.

The final review of Sitaare Zameen Par was conducted by a special revising committee headed by renowned theatre director Waman Kendre. This came after CBFC chairperson Rajendra Singh felt that additional changes were necessary following the film’s initial screening.
The committee’s evaluation led to the five modifications that were ultimately made before granting the film a U/A certificate.

According to Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par earlier ₹11.7 crore on its release date, June 20. The movie, reportedly made with ₹90 crore, also stars Genelia Deshmukh, Dolly Ahluwalia and Brijendra Kala.
Sitaare Zameen Par is the official remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions. The story centres on a basketball coach (Aamir Khan) who is suspended from his job. He is ordered to complete community service by training a team of players with disabilities.
